FAQ
What is a factory set? Factory sets are produced by the manufacturer and sealed with shrink wrap and/or tape. 
I do not consider an opened factory set a true factory set like most dealers do as they can be tampered with. A set must still be factory wrapped/sealed to be considered a true factory set. Topps started making factory sets in 1986 so sets older than this do not come in this form.
 
What is a hand collated set? A hand set is collated by opening up packs/boxes and sorted into number order and put into a plain box or binder with pages.
 
Why do factory sets cost more? Investors want factory sets because they know the cards should be perfect condition, never touched so there is no chance of any damage or missing cards. The demand for factory sets is greater than the demand for hand sets.
 
Which one should I buy? It’s a sad reality to buy a set that is factory sealed. Never open it. Never look at or enjoy the cards. 
The truth is factory sets cost more and they will always be worth a lot more in the future. As I said the demand for factory sets will always be there and if you are buying sets to put away for investment then this is the way to go. If your intention is to open the set and look at the cards then save money and get a hand set. Once you open the box the premium you paid for a factory set over a hand set is lost. I have high standards for the factory set boxes I sell as well so when I have boxes with dented corners I sell them at a discount. The cards are most likely perfect inside even if the box has a dent or imperfection. Since I didn’t open the box I can’t guarantee this but I have opened many dented factory set boxes myself and found no damage inside.
 
What is wrong with hand collated sets? Nothing! I guarantee the sets you buy from me are complete and in near mint to mint condition. 
 
Why should I buy from Collectors Cards and Games? I started buying/selling cards as a 7 year old. I have been sorting sets since 1973. 
There are very few card dealers left that can say this. You can be confident that any factory set you buy from me will be a genuinely sealed set in a nice clean looking box that will increase in value as long as you want to keep it. I have high standards for my hand sets as well. I don’t sneak in off condition cards and I always check them for completeness. 
You may find better prices on other web sites but you have all heard the phrase “You get what you pay for.” I charge exact shipping, I don’t make a living on shipping charges as well.
